We will create a zine of memories and thoughts, fragments and snippets, invented and suppressed. With everything we can think about related tomothers, mother tongue, motherlands. A zine is a self-produced and non-commercial magazine on a specific topic. It works entirely without a publishing house or a sales department, simple, fast and do-it-together. It can be a spontaneous collection of self-produced but also collected material, newly arranged and put into relation. This workshop is aimed exclusively at Black and People of Color, whose stories, knowledges and realities are systematically made invisible. That is why it is important for us to create this designated space to allow exchange, reflection and networking. There will be enough food and drinks. Bring your old children's photos, family recipes, your typewriter, pens, gift paper and glitter.
This workshop was realized as part of the Festival Tell Tales in Mainz in the summer of 2017. It took place during 3 days. Open to all Genders. Participation was free.
